Sintek PV module plant, plans to be located in Letzer Industrial Park

Economic Daily News, May 13, 2008 - Unitech and Sintek were actively invested in PV module field, and both chose to locate in Letzer Industrial Park. Unitech had completed the first production line, and the orders are full until the end of next year. Sintek utilize its existing advantages to ender PV module field for further success. Both Unitech and Sintek chose Letzer Industrial Park as their base for new business. Moreover; new published PV battery provider Big Sun Energy Technology Inc. built new factory, which will definitely enlarge PV module business at Letzer Industrial Park.
Letzer officer announced on May 13, 2008, total investment in Letzer reached NT104.5 billion dollars by the end of 1st quarter, and the result is better than the expectation. PV field invests take over than NT80 billion dollars. If keep this path, Letzer Industrial Park will become another specify area for PV business.
Letzer officer pointed that Unitech has the fastest investment and production speed within all investor companies. It had completed cold run phase for 30MW production line, in addition; starting shipment this month, and take the orders until the end of next year. Currently, Unitech plans to build 2nd and 3rd production line.
Unitech plans to contribute NT600 million dollars revenue in solar battery, take break even as the goal, and extend capacity to 90MW. Unitech signed 1-3 years short-term contracts with several raw material providers to solve material shortage problem. Totally, Unitech rent 10 hectare land from Letzer Industrial Park, and become one of the largest participants.
Recently, Sintek Photronic Corp. and Big Sun Energy Technology Inc. both enter Letzer Industrial Park. Sintek rented 4.2 hectare land, and plans to develop Thin-Film Solar Module business, the initial capacity design is about 25 to 30MW. Sintek began to make profit since 1st quarter last year, and the EPS reached NT0.68 per share. Having the color filter technology as the base, and invested in the PV module field rapidly. Big Sun Energy Technology Inc. will extend its traditional business in the solar battery business.
Since Thin-Film products shipped as module sets, having Sintek join this field, this will definitely enhance Letzer’s module area, as well as complete the supply chain in sola industry.
